There are three levels of the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) exams, designed and administrated by the CFA Institute to test your knowledge of different investment tools and skills.
Upon passing all three levels of CFA exams, you will become the CFA charter-holder.
The CFA charter is a professional credential bestowed by the CFA Institute on financial and investment professionals who have completed its program of study, passed all three levels of its examinations, and met other professional requirements.
The CFA charter is considered by many as the “gold standard” for the investment management industry.
Typically, it takes between two and five years to complete the CFA Program and pass all three levels of examination. According to the CFA® Institute, there are more than 170,000 CFA charterholders worldwide as of now.
There are 180 standalone MCQs in the Level-1 CFA exam, which for example covers 19 study sessions, 59 readings, and 10 topics as per the 2022 CFA curriculum. The CFA curriculum and exam coverage may vary each year.
Beginning in 2022, the Level-1 exam will be offered in February, May, August, and November every year.
All Level [I/II/III] CFA Exams shift from paper-based (PBT) to computer-based testing (CBT) starting in 2021.
